Achieve Nothing
That's it. I've had enough. Achievements are ruining my enjoyment of gaming.
Just recently I have been attempting to boost my overall Achievement percentage, but for what reason? My goal was to reach an overall 25% before the 1st March (I failed) and so a number of high-profile 2010 releases (Mass Effect 2, Army of Two: The 40th Day and Dante's Inferno) have remained unplayed by me simply because I didn't want to add another game to my account that could be detrimental to my goal. I'm a gamer and I love playing new games so this simply has to stop.
My Gamerscore should be an accurate representation of how I play games, but by playing games purely for their Achievements, or not playing them because they're Achievements look too difficult is going against the reason I play games. So from this day forth, I will go back to playing games for enjoyment. If I like a game then I will attempt to get as close to the 1000g as I can, but I'll no longer stick with an obviously poor game simply to get more points.
I have seen friends refuse to play games, get bored of games, resort to underhand tactics all in the pursuit of Gamerscore. I am no longer going to be one of these people. I still have a goal to complete 17 more games before 2011 and I will stick by this, but they will be games that I actually want to play!
